St. Dunstan's Wall Sconce

The St. Dunstan's Wall Sconce is a painted iron wall light built in a Gothic openwork form: pointed-arch openings, finials at the corners, and a lattice grille framing the light. The photo shows it in Black Iron Patina, the darker of the two finishes we make it in; it's also offered in Standard Paint. The openwork throws light both up and out, which is what a Gothic sconce is supposed to do on a wall.

We make it the way we've made fixtures since 1957: fabricated iron construction rather than die-cast, so the frame holds its shape and the openwork stays true to the pattern. Each piece is cut and formed to specification, the pointed arches are worked by hand, then the finished frame is painted or patinated, sealed with clear lacquer, and electrically assembled and tested before it ships.

Manufacturing Process

Each St. Dunstan's Wall Sconce is fabricated from iron, cut and shaped to specification, hand-painted or patinated to the selected finish, sealed with clear lacquer, then electrically assembled and tested.
