Minnesota State Capitol
Minnesota State Capitol
As part of the five-year comprehensive restoration of the Minnesota State Capitol, Crenshaw was selected as key supplier of historic lighting. This project entailed historic restoration and replication of more than 1,100 historic fixtures and 78 fixture types to museum-quality standards for the 378,000-square-foot building. This included monumental restored and replicated torchieres of solid brass construction with hand-applied patina, replicated and restored brass fixtures, and resin-cast fixtures. Integrated LED lamping was used to modernize the majority of fixtures while preserving the historic nature of the building. Crenshaw provided extensive design assistance in defining scope, materials, and engineering, and worked closely with the specification group throughout the project.
