The Spindle Floor Lamp stands on a twisted, rope-like stem of segmented brass — the stem spirals upward in segments rather than rising as a straight, smooth pole — and is topped by a fabric shade that is the dominant visible element. The fixture is offered in polished brass, satin brass, aged brass patina, antique bronze patina, or oil-rubbed bronze patina, with the fabric shade in black or tan. The photo shows the fixture with the black shade.
Every fixture is built in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. Brass is formed to specification, the stem is hand-polished or satined, patinated where specified, and sealed with clear lacquer; the shade is fitted and the fixture is electrically assembled and tested before it ships.

Manufacturing Process
Each Spindle Floor Lamp begins as brass stock, fabricated to specification in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The segmented stem is formed into its twisted spiral, then hand-polished or satined by hand, patinated where specified, and sealed with clear lacquer. The fabric shade is fitted over the stem, and the fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping. Fabricated construction gives the stem the structural integrity die-cast alternatives can't match. The twisted segments give the stem its movement, and the shade at the top keeps the light soft.
