Mills Lantern Pendant

The Mills Lantern Pendant is a chain-suspended cylindrical drum lantern. The body is mostly glass: white opal glass panels set between thin vertical brass spokes, so the fixture is a drum of diffused light held together by a cage of brass. A domed brass cap with a finial sits at the top where the chain meets the lantern. The spoke-and-panel construction is the difference from a die-cast drum: each brass member is formed individually and the panels fit between them, which is why the light comes out even and the profile stays light for a 30-pound fixture. It is assembled in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, with each brass part hand-polished or satined, patinated where the finish calls for it, and sealed with clear lacquer before electrical assembly and testing. It is offered in Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina.

Manufacturing Process

Each Mills Lantern Pendant is built in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The vertical brass spokes are fabricated from individual brass members that are precision-cut, formed, and welded to specification. The domed cap and finial are formed from brass stock. All brass components are hand-finished with patina application where specified, then sealed with clear lacquer. The white opal glass panels are set between the spokes, the chain is hung, and the fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping.
