Manchester II Sconce

The Manchester II Sconce is a two-light wall lantern fabricated from brass. The vertical multi-sided lantern hangs directly from a flat backplate — no arm, no offset — with white opal glass panels set into the frame in a hexagonal arrangement and a curved, scalloped urn-like bowl at the base. The direct backplate mount is what keeps the silhouette narrow against the wall while the glass diffuses the light evenly from both lamps. Most lanterns at this price use die-cast bodies; this one is assembled from individual fabricated components in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, each hand-polished or satined, patinated where the finish calls for it, and sealed with clear lacquer before electrical assembly and testing. It is offered in Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina.

Manufacturing Process

Each Manchester II Sconce is fabricated in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. Brass sheet and plate stock is cut to pattern using precision shearing operations. The lantern frame is built from individual brass members that are bent and formed using traditional metalworking techniques, then joined with careful welding. The flat backplate is formed and drilled to pattern. All brass components receive hand-finishing with patina application where specified, then are sealed with clear lacquer. The opal glass panels are set into the frame, and the fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping.
