King's Cross Lantern Pendant

The King's Cross Lantern Pendant is a modern lantern: a tall, faceted body with red accent rods that carry the form vertically. It is built from fabricated brass and offered in six finishes: Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina, and Standard Paint. The photo shows a bronze patina finish with copper tones — the copper look in the image is one of the patina finishes, not a separate material — and the red rods are a fixed accent in the design. Where mass-produced pendants are die-cast or stamped, the King's Cross is fabricated panel by panel from brass, so the body holds its shape and the rod work stays true over time. The white acrylic lens keeps the light clean against the darker finishes.

We have been fabricating lighting in Floyd, Virginia since 1957. Each King's Cross is made the way we have always done our fabrication: brass cut and formed to specification, and finished one fixture at a time in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The patina finishes are applied by hand and sealed with clear lacquer, so the copper tones in the photo are a finished, stable surface rather than raw metal left to darken on its own. It takes standard lamps or the integral 3000K LED, and the damp rating covers covered porches as well as interiors. At 18 to 21-1/2 inches wide, the tall body works as a vertical anchor in an entry or on either side of a staircase.

Manufacturing Process

Each King's Cross Lantern Pendant is fabricated from brass in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The body is cut and formed to specification, the red accent rods are fitted, and the fixture is individually hand-polished or satined, patinated where specified, and sealed with clear lacquer. Then it is electrically assembled and tested. The fabricated construction is what gives the pendant its structural integrity, something die-cast alternatives can't match.
