Hampton Roads Sconce

The Hampton Roads Sconce is a two-light wall lantern fabricated from brass in a traditional tapered urn form. The body tapers from a wider base to a narrower top, banded with curved horizontal lines, and closes at the top with a hanging ring finial. White opal glass diffusers sit inside the body, softening the light from the two lamps. The curved bands and the ring finial are formed and finished by hand, which is the kind of detail a die-cast body cannot carry. The fixture is assembled from individual components in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, each hand-polished or satined, patinated where the finish calls for it, and sealed with clear lacquer before electrical assembly and testing. It is offered in Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina.

Manufacturing Process

Each Hampton Roads Sconce is built in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The urn form is fabricated from individual brass members that are precision-cut, formed, and welded to specification. The curved horizontal bands are shaped by hand and require careful alignment of each element during assembly. The ring finial is formed from brass stock and fitted at the top. All brass components are hand-finished with patina application where specified, then sealed with clear lacquer. The fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping.
