Great Hale Lantern Pendant

The Great Hale Lantern Pendant is a Gothic lancet-arch lantern with amber, honey-tinted glass panels that read like stained glass when the fixture is lit. It is built from fabricated brass and offered in six finishes: Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina, and Standard Paint. Where mass-produced pendants are die-cast or stamped, the Great Hale is fabricated panel by panel from brass, and the amber glass is fitted into the lancet-arch frame, so the color is in the glass, not a coating. At six perimeter lamps plus a central R40 in the small size, and nine plus R40 in the large, it works as the primary fixture for a dining room or a large entry.

We have been fabricating lighting in Floyd, Virginia since 1957. Each Great Hale is made the way we have always done our fabrication: brass cut and formed to specification, the glass panels fitted into the frame, and finished one fixture at a time in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The amber opal glass panels are what give the fixture its stained-glass character, and they are fitted as individual panels into the frame rather than sealed in as a single sheet. It takes standard lamps or the integral 3000K LED, and the damp rating covers covered porches as well as interiors. The stained-glass look comes from the glass itself, so the amber color holds its tone even under direct light.

Manufacturing Process

Each Great Hale Lantern Pendant is fabricated from brass in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The lancet-arch body is cut and formed to specification, the amber glass panels are fitted into the frame, and the fixture is individually hand-polished or satined, patinated where specified, and sealed with clear lacquer. Then it is electrically assembled and tested. The fabricated construction is what gives the lantern its structural integrity, something die-cast alternatives can't match.
