The Fountain's Abbey Wall Sconce is a Gothic cathedral window: a lancet arch under a rose/quatrefoil crown, on a crenellated base. It is built from fabricated brass and offered in six finishes: Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina, and Standard Paint. The photo shows a dark bronze patina finish. Where die-cast sconces pour the whole form in one shot, the Abbey sconce is fabricated panel by panel from brass, so the tracery reads as cut and formed work, not molded. The white acrylic lens keeps the light soft, and the narrow 7-inch and 8-inch bodies fit narrow walls, doorways, and stair landings that a wider fixture can't.
We have been fabricating lighting in Floyd, Virginia since 1957. The Abbey collection takes its forms from Gothic and Moorish architectural ornament, and the sconce shares that design language with the Abbey pendant and ceiling drum, so a wall, a ceiling, and an entry can all carry the same character. Each sconce is made the way we have always done our fabrication: brass cut and formed to specification, and finished one fixture at a time in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. It takes standard medium-base lamps or the integral 3000K LED, and the damp rating makes it usable on covered porches. The crenellated base keeps the visual weight low, so the sconce sits quietly beside a doorframe, a mirror, or a window.

Manufacturing Process
Each Fountain's Abbey Wall Sconce is fabricated from brass in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The lancet arch, the rose/quatrefoil crown, and the crenellated base are cut and formed to specification, and the fixture is individually hand-polished or satined, patinated where specified, and sealed with clear lacquer. Every section of the sconce is cut and fitted as separate work, which is what lets the crown's tracery stay fine instead of the solid relief a cast body would have to carry. Then the fixture is electrically assembled and tested.
