Fairfax Sconce

The Fairfax Sconce is a one-light wall fixture whose dominant element is a large frosted white opal glass globe. The globe sits on a brass stem and collar that reach out from a rectangular wall strap, and it diffuses the light from the single lamp in every direction. The brass structure is understated against the glass: a flat rectangular strap on the wall, a stem, a collar, and nothing else, so the globe reads as the whole fixture. It is built from individually fabricated brass components in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, each hand-polished or satined, patinated where the finish calls for it, and sealed with clear lacquer before electrical assembly and testing. It is offered in Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina.

Manufacturing Process

Each Fairfax Sconce is built in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The brass members are precision-cut, formed, and welded to specification. The rectangular wall strap is formed from brass sheet stock and drilled to pattern, and the stem and collar are fabricated from brass bar stock with precise welding at all joints. All brass components are hand-finished with patina application where specified, then sealed with clear lacquer. The glass globe is fitted, and the fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping.
