Column Pendant

The Column Pendant is turned from a 2-inch solid brass bar stock blank, not drawn tube or pipe. The blank is cut to length, held in a lathe chuck, and turned down to the column profile with its faceted flat faces. Each piece is hand-finished, then wired and assembled in our Floyd, Virginia workshop.

A fixture turned from solid stock is dense at the center and holds its profile. That matters on a 14-inch profile hung in front of a dining table or over a kitchen island, where the line of the column is the whole design. The exposed light sits at the base of the column, aimed at the work surface below.

The photo shows one finish. The Column is offered in Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Aged Brass Patina, Antique Bronze Patina, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Patina; hand-finishing is done on every piece.

Manufacturing Process

Each Column Pendant is cut from a 2-inch solid brass bar stock blank and turned to profile on a lathe in our Floyd, Virginia facility. The faceted faces are cut to specification, then hand-polished or satined by hand. The piece is patinated where the finish calls for it and sealed with clear lacquer, then electrically assembled and tested before it ships.

Installation Notes

Professional installation is recommended because of the weight. Mounting hardware and detailed instructions are included.
