Clermont Lantern Pendant

The Clermont Lantern Pendant is a Moorish-style pendant lantern fabricated from jet-cut aluminum in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, with cast appliqués at the bottom. The earlier copy called the frame 'jet-cut aluminum' in one sentence and 'formed and cast brass construction' in the next; that contradiction is resolved here, with aluminum as the material of record for the body. The form is an ornate, traditional Moorish lantern, not a minimal one: the cut-out detail, the profile, and the cast appliqués at the bottom are the whole point of the fixture, and each piece is made individually to pattern in the shop. The spec line 'Lens: White acrylic' has also been corrected — the panels are frosted/opal, as the photo shows.

The pendant is finished in Standard Paint, the finish option offered for this fixture, with the painted surface going over the fabricated aluminum body.

The body is fabricated to specification in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The jet-cut frame is formed, the cast appliqués are fitted, and the panels are set. The fixture is then painted, electrically assembled, and tested on the bench before it leaves the shop. The Clermont family is named after a church in England by Woody and Jackie Crenshaw, and Crenshaw has fabricated lighting in Floyd since 1957.

Manufacturing Process

Each Clermont Lantern Pendant is fabricated from jet-cut aluminum with cast appliqués at the bottom, formed to specification, painted, then electrically assembled and tested.

Installation Notes

Professional installation is recommended due to weight. Mounting hardware and detailed instructions are included. Each size is a ten-light pendant, so confirm the ceiling structure and circuit are rated for the load, and plan the hanging height before ordering.
