Bound Sconce

The Bound Sconce's dominant element is a curved frosted opal shade. The shade is held by brass rings on a flat backplate that screws to the wall; brass appears in the rings and the plate, and the glass carries the light. The curved opal glass diffuses a single 60W lamp into a soft up-and-down wash suited to a headboard, a bathroom wall, or a hallway. The rings and backplate are fabricated in our Floyd, Virginia workshop, and the fixture is offered in five brass finishes, from bright polished to dark oil-rubbed patinas.

Manufacturing Process

Each Bound Sconce is built in our Floyd, Virginia workshop. The backplate and retaining rings are fabricated from brass members that are precision-cut, formed, and welded to specification. Each element is aligned by hand, then the curved opal glass shade is set into the rings. All brass components receive hand-finishing with patina application where specified, then are sealed with clear lacquer. The fixture is electrically assembled to UL standards and tested before shipping.
